About the Project

A Walk in Her Shoes is a digital exhibition presenting interviews of women professors at the University of Richmond. This project analyzes the University of Richmond as a workplace for women professors through the stories and experiences of professors themselves. Using extensive scholarly research to inform the questions asked during the interview, the common strands between the interviews push us to think about the experience of women in academia—as professors, as scholars, as faculty members, and as women in the working world—and how their gender affects their experience.

In order to minimize risk to interviewees, only tenured professors were interviewed for this project.
